About Hinds' Feet Farm
The seeds for Hinds' Feet Farm were planted almost 20 years ago when Martin & Puddin Foil's youngest son, Phil, was severely injured in an automobile accident. Their experiences over the years, both good and bad, led them to create a bold vision for long-term care for survivors of traumatic brain injury.
Hinds’ Feet Farm is dedicated to serving persons living with brain
injury.
Our mission is to maximize the post injury potential of persons living with
brain injury with integrated, unique and holistic programs; allowing persons
living with brain injury to pursue meaningful activities while developing a
sense of belonging at home and in the surrounding communities. We will
accomplish this mission with several unique, person-centered,
post-rehabilitation, community-based programs.
Residential
Program
The residential program will provide professional, full-time assisted living care for six individuals. Ideal candidates are individuals who require full time care and assistance with daily living tasks. Residents will participate in an array of carefully planned activities to assist in the realization of his or her potential.
Day
Program
The Hinds’ Feet Farm Day Program is a paradigm shift from the
traditional medical, treatment, model for people living with brain
injury, to a model that embraces a holistic health and wellness
orientation, empowering members toward occupation and meaning in life
post injury.
Created by, and for, persons living with brain injury; members actively
participate throughout the entire infrastructure of the program. Hinds’
Feet Farm is person-centered, member empowered,
self-determined, free choice, conceptualized and driven program. Members
are self governing through the fluidity of the program by self-designing
opportunities to engage in reestablishing and empowering occupation.
Program staff, family and professional caregivers, in-kind community
volunteers and student interns are guides for members in opportunities for
exploration, discovery, confidence and self-esteem in their new
identity and meaning in life post-injury.
